Rise Up Birmingham Graduation & Capstone Presentation

This summer, Birmingham will witness the powerful conclusion of the Rise Up Birmingham initiative with a Graduation and Capstone Presentation that celebrates transformation, leadership, and community vision.

In partnership with the City of Birmingham and Miles College, participants from the Junior Violence Interrupter Program, Flipping the Game, and the Community Practitioner Residency will take the stage to present their capstone projects—real-world solutions designed to address violence prevention, healing, and social justice in their communities.

These presentations will reflect months of intensive training in conflict resolution, community engagement, advocacy, and entrepreneurship. Each graduate will share how their work can create lasting change, demonstrating the skills, strategies, and leadership capacity they have developed through the program.

The Graduation and Capstone Presentation will be more than a ceremony—it will be a community milestone, showcasing Birmingham’s emerging leaders and their commitment to building safer, stronger, and more unified neighborhoods.
